In today’s world it’s a scary fact that 1 in 3 children in the UK are classed as obese. Type 2 diabetes, a direct symptom of being overweight, is now at epidemic proportions. This is something that all parents need to think about, and something we as parents ourselves and as owners at Watermead, take very seriously. We believe that children should be introduced to healthy lifestyle habits as early as possible. As a direct consequence of this philosophy, as well as having regular sports and exercise sessions, we also have Chef Bruno visit the pre-school setting every week. He provides amazing interactive education through play dance, fresh fruits & vegetables, healthy eating, cooking and movement Sessions.
The children have a great time experimenting with food, creating their own recipes and testing their creations. By introducing them to healthy foods and recipes we hope to set them off on the right foot when it comes to following a healthy lifestyle.
However, it doesn’t just stop with the children in our care. Chef Bruno also visits the setting to cook for the parents! Not only does this give the parents an insight in to what we provide for their children it also helps to give them healthy eating ideas they can take home and put in to practice… maybe yours will taste as good as your sons or daughters?!?
