The Curiosity Approach

 

 

We are delighted to inform you that after investing time, resources and passion into working towards The Curiosity Approach accreditation, we have been successful and are now a Curiosity Approach Accredited Centre.  We wholeheartedly embarked on this journey to promote awe and wonder in early childhood and further promote a pedagogy that inspires children to see beauty in the random & unusual, to ignite creativity in educators & children.

“The Curiosity Approach is a modern-day approach to Early Childhood, taking parts from Reggio, Steiner, Te Whāriki and adding a sprinkle of Montessori.  It is a beautiful recipe book of wonderful ingredients, carefully mixed together with experience, passion and a love of Early Childhood. It's baked together in a mindful oven of loveliness that needs thoughtful practitioners and professionals to be mentally present, thankful and forever curious about their career with little children”.

At Watermead we provide our children with a warm homely environment that is friendly, inviting, fun and one that inspires children to be interested and curious by discovering, exploring and doing. We feel the accreditation will enhance our environment for the children, a perfect match for Watermead.

The accreditation is all encompassing. It involves the management team, practitioners, parents and our Watermead children.  The Curiosity Approach is about sparking creativity in not just children but educators too, we help to create those curious “thinkers and doers” of the future.
