As parents ourselves, we have high expectations when it comes to professional childcare. This is reflected in the attention to detail we have taken in developing and nurturing Watermead Day Nursery from its conception over 10 years ago, into an Ofsted OUTSTANDING setting, and something feedback confirms.
Watermead offers unquestionably the best childcare for babies (0 Years) through to pre-school (5 years), as well as afterschool club (5 - 8 years) to the residents of Loughborough and beyond. It is also the only setting in the region inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of childcare. Key to this philosophy is the understanding of the important roles imagination and discovery play in early childhood learning.
Watermead offers a secure, safe environment, across two adjacent settings situated on a quiet residential street. Both settings are protected by CCTV in every room and access is restricted by a bio-metric finger print entry system – The only one employed by a nursery within the region.
Children in our care can develop skills and experience activities that will have a direct impact on their future. They can experience the great outdoors through our Forest School, learn to play sports with our resident physical education coach, be stimulated in Kimble’s Music and Movement classes and even develop their artistic skills through use of out dedicated art room. Everything we do is there to provide a stimulus rich environment where little minds can grow and we are constantly introducing and developing new ways of doing this based on feedback from the curriculum, parents and the children too.
Parental input is a particularly big focus for us. Over the years this has helped to shape the nursery and the care provided through regular parental sessions and community involvement. After all, a parent has the best idea of how to care for their children, and we want to make the child’s experience as enjoyable, and memorable, as possible whilst with us – like it would be at home.
"As a mother of two young children, I understand the needs of parents looking, not just for child care, but for something extra special...a place where their children will be happy, nurtured and cared for from the moment they arrive.”

In these difficult times a quick hello from our family to yours. Stay safe...
During these difficult times Watermead Nursery has not stood still in its desire to provide the best childcare for both our returning and new children. Although we have continued to stay open for provision of childcare for our outstanding key workers, we have not stood still in developing both settings to keep Watermead at the top of the nursery tree. Rooms have been repainted and redeveloped, gardens have been cleared and replanted and the lodge has been further developed with a covered terrace and privacy barrier. The cloak room at Brook Farm House has been enlarged and we have also initiated the construction of a bespoke pool cover to provide even more outside space for our children to enjoy!
